Only 79
Val lives alone, with only her cat, Oscar, for company. Her grown-up son and daughter, Graham and Fiona, wish they could do more to help … but they are too busy. Shirley, from next door, pops in when she can but she has her hands full with a hypochondriac husband and her own dicky bladder. Melanie the cleaner is dog rough but has a heart of gold, though boyfriend, Daryl, is out of prison and looking for opportunities. Granddaughter, Naomi, wants to celebrate Val’s forthcoming 79th birthday by throwing a surprise party.
Is anyone looking out for Val or are they all looking out for themselves?
A play of humour and pathos that will make you laugh and cry.
