Goodbye 2020 Post Title

Goodbye, 2020!

With 2020 coming to a close, we are already looking forward to the new year and hope that we will be returning to the stage to entertain you all again. With changes already planned for our production schedule for May and October performances only, it is too soon to know if we will be able to deliver in May, but we are certainly optimistic for October; keep your eyes peeled here or on our Facebook page for information as it arises.

Despite being a difficult year, we have still been able to have the occasional gathering online via Zoom, for our committee meetings and play readings, with November seeing us read through a new period play by scriptwriter, Ray Knowles. These readings are a great way for us to keep in touch while we cannot meet in person and help us to identify potential new plays for when we return. Play readings also help the scriptwriter, as they can benefit from constructive feedback from a group that has been performing for over 85 years; if you are a scriptwriter and would like us to read your play, please feel free to contact us.

In the meantime, until we can return to the stage, don’t forget that you can still get your dose of theatre online via The Shows Must Go On! YouTube channel; currently they are showing Dick Whittington, which will be available until midnight of Sunday, 27 December. Even better, with a subscription to the National Theatre, you will be able to watch any of the shows from their library whenever you want to.

Finally, we would like to thank you for your continued support of the Arts and take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and peaceful Christmas and New Year, as we say goodbye to 2020.

See you in 2021!
