21 Jun June 2020 Update
With May passed, we have entered our Summer break period where our members and patrons would normally have social gatherings, play readings, pub walks and our annual end-of-season dinner. This year, however, we will be taking a step back from our normal activities to comply with government guidelines, and consider the impact on our plans for the remainder of the year.
October Production Cancelled
Although we have dropped to Alert Level 3 across the UK, social distancing is still important, making it difficult for arts and entertainment venues to resume activities. With theatres across the West End planning to remain closed until Spring 2021 in the worst-case scenario[1], we have opted to follow suit and have cancelled our plans for an October 2020 return.
This postponement of activities means that we will be entering 2021 under our revised scheduling, working on two productions a year for the Spring and Autumn seasons.
Highly Commended
Lockdown hasn’t been all bad news for us, with NODA releasing their London District Winners list earlier this year, where we found ourselves shortlisted for the Whitebread Trophy for Programme Design (Standard Class), the winner of which was announced on 14 June 2020.
The programme shortlisted was for our production of Third Week in August and, although we did not ultimately win the award, we are proud to have received a Highly Commended certificate for the quality of, and information provided by, our programme.
Congratulations to all winners and shortlisted groups!!
